Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using The Magic Letter Box ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.
Description of Service
The Magic Letter Box is an online platform that enables users to create personalized, AI-generated letters from fictional characters such as Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, and others. Parents and guardians provide details about their children, and teachers provide details about their students, to generate customized letters that can be downloaded as PDF documents.
User Accounts
To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and complete registration information
- Maintaining the security of your password
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Service.
Subscription Tiers
Free Tier
Free accounts include 5 letters total, access to all characters, standard templates, and instant PDF download. Once you've used your 5 free letters, you'll need to upgrade for additional letters.
Teacher Trial
Teachers who sign up receive a free trial including 10 letters and up to 10 students, bulk letter generation, and CSV roster import capabilities.
Family Plan
Family subscriptions are billed annually at $15/year and include:
- Unlimited letter generation
- Up to 6 children
- Access to premium templates
- Saved letter history
- Multiple holiday elf characters
- Ability to email letters directly
Classroom Edition
The Classroom Edition subscription is billed annually at $25/year and includes:
- All Family Plan features
- Up to 35 students per account
- Bulk letter generation for entire classrooms
- CSV roster import and export
- Teacher-specific templates and letter types
- Multi-page PDF downloads
Payment and Billing
Premium subscriptions are processed through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring annual basis until you cancel. You may cancel at any time through your account settings or by contacting support.
Subscription fees are non-refundable, but you will retain access to Premium features until the end of your current billing period.
Teacher and Educator Responsibilities
If you use the Classroom Edition as a teacher or educator, you additionally agree to:
- Only enter student information for students in your classroom or educational program
- Ensure you have appropriate authority to use student information for personalized letter creation, consistent with your school's policies
- Limit student information to first names, nicknames, ages, interests, and educational notes—do not enter sensitive personal information
- Review AI-generated letters before distributing to students to ensure appropriateness
- Delete student information when it is no longer needed or when students leave your classroom
- Not share your account credentials with other teachers; each teacher should have their own account
Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Create content that is harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Use automated scripts to access the Service
- Resell or redistribute letters for commercial purposes
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
Intellectual Property
Our Content
The Service, including its original content (templates, designs, logos), features, and functionality, is owned by The Magic Letter Box and is protected by intellectual property laws.
Your Content
You retain rights to the personal information and child details you provide. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to use this information solely for the purpose of generating your personalized letters.
Generated Letters
Letters generated through our Service are for your personal, non-commercial use. You may print, share with family, and keep these letters as keepsakes.
AI-Generated Content
Our letters are generated using artificial intelligence technology. While we strive for high-quality, appropriate content, we recommend reviewing letters before sharing with children. We are not responsible for any unintended content variations in AI-generated text.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Magic Letter Box shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly.
Account Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may also delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting support.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by posting the updated Terms on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
